HUNG SLIDER, PART WAY DOWN: here the slider has hung further down than in a snivel, and the parachute has slowed down somewhat, but maybe not enough for a safe landing. The canopy may be asymmetric, resulting in turning. It will also only open partway, thus pulling the ends in. The procedure to follow is to release the brakes, pulling down for 2 seconds to stall, and repeating if necessary. The question is does the slider descend to a foot from the tops of the risers? Does the parachute fly straight with minimal correction toggle (to the shoulders)? If not, the jumper should cutaway and pull the reserve.
